Action

Camarilla Group developed an article by-lined to GD Managing Director Oliver Hazell, explaining how recycling is being hampered by plastic products made with multiple compounds, making them hard to recycle. The article explained how it’s the manufacturing of the products themselves that needs to change in order to truly hit recycling targets.

Discussions were arranged with the IWA (Institute of Welsh Affairs), Wales’ leading think-tank, as it is widely followed by politicians and business leaders and with key Assembly Members and journalists.

The article appeared on the IWA’s ClickonWales site and led to Oliver Hazell being a panellist at an IWA event discussing ‘phasing out single use plastics’ where he joined then Welsh Government Minister for the Environment, Hannah Blythyn AM and other guests.

Additional discussions were arranged with Mike Hedges AM, Chair of the National Assembly’s Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee, and Jenny Rathbone, Assembly Member for Cardiff Central, who has a particular passion for the environment.

The article was also used by the South Wales Argus in its business section.
